Obituary of Giel Jonkhout

Peacefully passed away with family at his side at Bradford Valley Care Community on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Giel Jonkhout of Holland Landing in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Maria “Els” (nee Pirson) for 65 years. Loving dad of Jack (Joan), late Phyllis (Gilies) Gendron, Jeff (Elsie), Theo, Gary (Theresa), Martin (Janet), Marge and Paul (Valerie). Giel will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Giel will also be fondly remembered by his siblings and their families in the Netherlands. Friends may call at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford for visitation on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Martyrs of Japan Church, 167 Essa St., Bradford on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. followed by cremation. In Giel’s memory, donations may be made to Sleeping Children Around the World.
