Like the song suggests, I can imagine that your mother would want you all to smile a smile for her…And…”smile each chance you get”…
When Irish Eyes are Smiling

Near a shady wall a rose once grew,
Budded and blossomed in God’s free light,
Watered and fed by morning dew,
Shedding it’s sweetness day and night.
As it grew and blossomed fair and tall,
slowly rising to loftier height,
It came to a crevice in the wall,
Through which there shone a beam of light.
Onward it crept with added strength,
With never a thought of fear or pride.
It followed the light through the crevice’s length

My dearest Bill, Norm, and Carolyn:
I am praying for comfort and peace that reaches far deeper than words as you mourn the loss of your beloved mother, a very special lady.
Through love, your mother will be remembered, and in memory, your mother will live on. Even in your sorrow, I hope you can hold on to the thought that a life lived with so much love never really ends, but goes on living forever in the hearts of all those who remember…
I remember…Your mother had great personal charm and warmth and she loved to laugh.
I remember…Your mother’s “yellow shoes” which she said prompted some teasing at work, and earned her the title of being everyone’s “little chickadee”.
I remember…Her cheerful voice as she introduced me to her curious friends at the Legion as, “Our Billy’s girl”.
I remember…Your mother’s small stature, big, compassionate heart, warm embrace and her complete devotion to “family”.
In time, you too will find peace in remembering…Memories of her smile, her laughter, and all her little pleasant, tinkering ways will comfort you from day to day.
Always remember, “When you lose someone you love, you gain an angel you know”. Your mother will be the sunshine in your day, the brightest star in the sky at night and the angel always looking out for you with eternal love because as you know, life isn’t forever…Love is.
I will hold all of you in my thoughts and prayers as I toast your mother’s strong spirit and beautiful soul. Our paths didn’t cross as often as they should have, but even after all these many years later, she left a lasting impression whenever they did.
As the strong, kind, and loving individuals your parents have encouraged you to be, I have no doubt their legacy will carry on through all of you. Take care of each other in the coming days/weeks ahead—And always.
