So sad to hear of Jim’s passing. He will be fondly remembered as a kind and gentle man. One memory in particular always makes us smile. When building our house in Pottageville we needed to truck in septic sand. I received a call from township advising we were being charged the cost of a street cleaner to clean the mud caused by the trucks. One call to Jim and that was the end of it. Always wished I’d been a fly on the wall to hear how he resolved it. We offer our deepest sympathies to the family. Your dad will be missed.

So sad to hear of Jim Morning's passing. Jim was a dear friend and neighbour of my parents ever since moving to Kettleby in the 1960's and he continued that friendship with our family since that time. It was amazing to watch Jim transition from the Township's "grader man" to starting his own small trucking business and then building it into the thriving family enterprise that it is today - all from his home in Kettleby. Very few people gave more of themselves to the community than Jim. Whether as a Township Councillor, a Lions Club member or as a longstanding member of the Kettleby Cemetery Board, building community and helping others was part of his DNA.  Our thoughts go out to the Morning family at this time.

My relationship with Mr Morning started at an early age. Funny story, my mom was due to give birth in Early April 1975. A crazy late winter snowstorm descended upon King Township. Mr Morning arranged for the town snow plows to clear a path for my mom and dad and gave them safe passage to the hospital. Growing up down the street from the Mornings, I always felt welcome at their home. Sitting around their kitchen table or family den I think back with fond memories of watching movies or hockey games…a true Canadian family household. Brent, Donna, Grant and Drew, you have my sincerest condolences. Mr Morning, thank you for the childhood memories and for being such an active member of our King community.
