We have such good memories from so many years ago. We shared a phone call more recently to learn of his health declining. I was still pretty young when Walter, in his youth, entered an old fashioned “car rally”. He and his partner / navigator won the rally and brought home first prize… one of those newfangled boxes that showed pictures and talked, a television set. The first for our family. Couldn’t get many channels but we got CBC. That was the beginning of our family’s obsession with Hockey Night in Canada. In those first years it didn’t start until 9:00 on Saturday night and we missed the first period and part of the second but our Saturday night ritual was established. Not sure if Mom and Dad would ever have bought a TV on their own but we were never without a TV after that. Dad was and the rest of the family were hooked on hockey (except for Mom) for life. Thanks Walt for my addiction.

Walt had so much love to give and he always made you feel noticed. He always will hold a special place in my heart. I am so thankful I had the chance to catch up with him not too long ago. He will be missed. Much love to all the siblings.
