I had the privilege to work with, and be mentored by Cindy for many years in our shared passion to improve public sector project management. Her beautiful smile and gentle strength will always be in my mind. Heartfelt condolences to family and friends.

Such sad news. I enjoyed the remarkable experience of working with Cindy periodically, over many, many years. I so truly admired her. She was soft and calm in her demeanor, but strong and resolute in her convictions. She was always such a pleasure to both work with and just to talk to. She was so patient with others, never berating people in disagreement, yet always holding her position when she thought it mattered. With so much cynicism around us, the extraordinary stands out. Anyone who came in contact with Cindy, left knowing she had made their world better. Why did we lose such a wonderful person so early? There must be some higher purpose to this!

As a former co-worker of Cindy's I want to offer my sincere condolences to the family. Cindy and I worked collaboratively over a number of years at the Town of Newmarket before I retired and I was shocked to hear she had passed. Cindy was a tremendous individual who always went out of her way to assist others or figure out another way to do something so that it was more palatable for others. She spoke often of her family and the joy she felt for each one of them.
I am sure you have many memories of things she has said and done over the years and hope that as you recall them now that they bring you some comfort and peace into the future.

Our condolences to Colin, Kirsten, Shannon and Curtis. We share many memories over the years with our twin family up the street...watching each others families grow up over the years. Cindy was always smiling, happy and just lovely. Her love and support for her family was always evident in everything she did or said. The memory that shows that the most was when she was telling me about their new hot tub. "It is the best thing we did. The kids have nothing to distract them and we just talk about everything." Our hearts are broken for you all with the loss of such a wonderful woman. Cindy was such a bright light who absolutely captivated her audience whenever she walked into a room. On true Cindy style, she controlled things for as long as she could and then she got on the “train”! I bet they had a rocking time when she got on …. She would dance her way along to the next stop.
Our memories are so numerous ….. the fun our families had together were wonderful! We were blessed to have had such an amazing and loving force in our midst and we thank God for that gift.

Our deepest condolences to Colin and family. We will always remember Cindy for her infectious smile, and love of life. We enjoyed spending time with her in the Murrell’s backyard by the pool, chatting with a drink. She spoke so fondly of her family, especially of her grandson Forbes. I will always remember our belly laughs while golfing and sharing a cart in the ladies league, Cindy was SO much fun (and a great golfer too)! She was always so generous to our daughter Emma, playing with her and swimming in the pool. Cindy was one of the first people I met at The Town of Newmarket over 20 years ago. She always had a wonderful smile and a sparkle in her eyes. She and I were on several committees together over the years and I recall I arrived at one meeting a little late and a little frazzled. I explained to the group that one of my children was dealing with some health issues and I had been over at the hospital to get an update. We went on with the meeting and, when I returned from lunch, there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers on my desk. Cindy had gone out at lunch to buy these flowers & she attached a sweet note. It read: things are tough right now but they do have a way of working themselves out. She was very kind & she made an impact on so many people & the organization over the years.

Cindy is the reason why I'm employed with the Town and she was an amazing mentor for myself and others.... I can't express this enough, She was an amazing mentor to myself and many others,,, she will be missed immensely, I'm tremendously taken aback about her passing and wish the best for her family in this troubling times. I am saddened to hear of the passing of Cindy. I had the privilege of getting to know her through our work at the Town of Newmarket. What a bright light she was. I also had the honour of participating in the ToN's dragon boat team with her. Cindy was always at the front of the boat leading our team to many victories. I know she will be missed. Paddles up! I had the privilege of witnessing Cindy as a young teenager. At that time, she was a gifted gymnast as she astonished me with her athletic prowess. I watcher her fly like a bird and land so gracefully.
We studied music together and she was an amazing trumpet player that impressed many with her natural musical skills. We would laugh together often in and out of class.
Finally I remember she wrote poetry and sewed in her spare time--so multitalented.
She always had a ready smile, a quick sit and a kind disposition towards both girls and boys--although I never knew how she could juggle all the attention. Our travels to Florida, music and camping trips are forever etched in my memory.
My condolences to her family because I knew she loved being a proud mom and a devoted wife. I will miss her always and forever.
Cindy’s smile was always special and uplifting. From the moment we met, we clicked instantly, bonded by our shared background in planning, our work in HR, and our mutual passion for bigger changes. She had an enthusiasm for everything she did, bringing warmth and energy wherever she went.
I remember her so fondly at events, her shining spirit shining. Even during her dragon boat days at the Town, she embraced every moment with joy and determination. Her presence was one that made a difference.
Hearing this heartbreaking news is truly saddening. My deepest condolences to her family—may they find comfort in the love and light she shared with so many. Cindy will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Cindy, Colin and family have been dear friends for our 30 years in Mt Albert. They always gave to the community they loved so much. Cindy in particular just last summer helped me create a Maple Sugar bush (subdivided the land) to create a new tradition for our family. We expect Colin and family to come see us regularly!
We can't say enough about how Cindy was always welcoming, helpful and fun to hang out with. This also is not good bye, but we will see you again. Your dear friends, The Boyes'

My name is John Yuen and I live in Keswick. The Newmarket Toastmasters, a club inside the Newmarket Town Hall on Mulock Drive, is where I met Cindy a year ago. It was not too long after, she, as the then the club’s Vice-President of Education, was introduced to me as my mentor. Because of her guidance, I can speak in front of a group of people more confidently than ever before—she, no doubt, sparked something in me through her kind and intuitive techniques. Cindy was an ideal model speaker for me, one that I could ever hope for.
It was always a joy on Thursdays to travel down in my Corolla to the town south of me and listen to her deliver her own speeches to her friends at the club.
Cindy, you have been a wonderful guide to me! You had to leave us—me and your friends at the club—and we understand. But I personally want to pay tribute to you today as you chat with others in your new world.
