My heartfelt condolences to all of Tom's close friends & family!
I just heard of Tom's passing yesterday, from a mutual colleague. I knew Tom from the early 1990s, when I was an IBM representative at BMO, and later, when I was a colleague at the Bank. We travelled together on business at least once, and share many laughs (and occasional frustrations) at work over the years. Tom was a great guy, always willing to share an expletive (or three) along with insightful knowledge and advice.
We'll all miss him.

Cathy, our thoughts are with your family and you during this difficult time. This is a little something in order to help others in Tom’s name! Sending our love, Francesca, Mary, Sandro & Elisabeth Nardone & Paul Reiferson.
Tom and I had many interactions at work (BMO). I remember he was always generous with this time and never held back to share his wisdom and opinions, which he of course used very colourful language to express. I'm fortunate to have worked with him, I considered him one of the good guys at BMO during my tenure there. My condolences to his friends and family.
Tommy, The Texas Rose as some called him at work, among other names as well. We could always hear Tommy before we saw him. His loud infectious laughter traversing the rows of cubicles. His excellent command of the more colorful words in the English language was second to none. He was giving of his time and knowledge to anyone he crossed paths with. For this I am entirely grateful for I was one of those fortunate ones.
He always kept a goofy picture of Michael and Philip in their Canadian apparel on his desk. If was the last thing he packed when we moved to different parts of the building and it was the first thing he unpacked on his desk. I always suspect it was symbolic for those who gave him purpose in this life. He spoke of Cathy and the boys constantly and I am convinced he probably considered those were his greatest achievements.

Tom was a super nice guy. I had this joke with him that, all issues relating to the server world were caused by him, from the network side. His sense of humor would get people going even when dealing with production issues. That voice...Condolences to his family. Emmanuel Duodu

Our deepest sympathies to Cathy, Mike, PJ and families. Tom was my dearest friend for 53 years and I miss him. I have so many memories of our adventures to share with you Cathy the next time I am in Canada. Tom and I had the rarest of relationships being so close for our adult life through all of our ups and downs, but never judging each other and always available for each other. I am so grateful to have known Tom as well as I do, him introducing me to Cathy and being part of their families lives. Texas has truly lost a shining star.

Cathy & boys - my condolences. I met Tom in the early 70's (through my brother Jim) and like so many others, loved him from the start. His heart was apparent and warm. His spirit gave me hope. And he could always make me laugh. I valued time spent with Tom, and am thankful you shared him with us.
