
Obituary of Cindy Darlene Wackett
Cindy Wackett (nee Curtis) peacefully passed away at Margaret Bahen Hospice, Newmarket on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
Beloved wife of Colin. Loving mother of Kirsten (Nic), Shannon and Curtis. Proud Nana of Forbes. Dear daughter of late Doreen and late John Curtis. Dear sister of John (Rhonda) Curtis and Donna (Wally) Stankov. Dear aunt of Tyler (Jocy), Jay (Isa), Michelle (Adam), Kal (Connie) and Stephanie.
Cindy was born in Toronto on August 6, 1962 at St. Joseph's Hospital. She attended Roseland Public School, York Memorial Collegiate Institute and York University. After completing school, Cindy worked for HBR Planning Centre and for The Town of Newmarket. While working for the Town, she completed a Diploma for Public Administration at the University of Western. In 1988, Cindy married Colin Wackett where they went on to raise their family in Mount Albert.
Cindy was a competitive gymnast, cheerleader, trumpetist, and was the co-founder of The Newmarket Toastmaster Club. She danced through life and was passionate about her family, her friends, travel, gardening, Scrabble, and book club.
A celebration of Cindy's life will be held at the Mount Albert Lions Hall, 5057 Mt. Albert Rd., Mt. Albert, ON on Saturday, March 29, 2025, 10am-12pm Visitation & Respects, 12-1:30pm Celebration Service, 1:30-4pm Reception.
