My beautiful cousin Mavis I am already missing our wonderful talks, if we did not hear from each other in two weeks we would be checking to see that all is well. Love and thankful that we were who we were in each others life. I pray Our Lord God will continue to protect and look after yours who are left behind, Sylvia, Orville and Orris and the extended family and friends, Love Lydia Xx

When I first met Aunt Mavis and her welcoming, beautiful family, she lived in West Eglington, Toronto, a beautiful suburb. It was my first visit to Canada, I was in my teens and the first time to fly ~ it was on Warder Airline!
It was Aunt Mavis who introduced me to Jazz and took me to my first jazz concert where I heard a song that left me captivated by Cleo Laine & John Williams - 'He was Beautiful' (Cavatina) a song we hold as an endearment to our beautiful late-brother, she also enjoyed Folk music. She encouraged me to collect little teaspoons. She collected miniature cups and saucers and introduced me to my first bagel (I grew to actually not like bagels
It was with Aunt Mavis that I visited the museum to see: *Tutankhamun & the Pyramid* so many years ago. Whom, I took me to experience the magnificent *Niagara Falls and travelled on the Maid of the Mist*
It was with Aunt Mavis that some years later, we shared theatre and enjoyed the incredible experience of excellence *The Phantom of the Opera* with Michael Crawford. Songs, I sing now ~ close to the depth of my inner self
Sadly, like many, her life was extremely hard, but she always showed positivity and gave more love than I think she ever received. She like so many of that generation shared 'life's stories' and 'life's truth'. I wish I listened more ... for me, A true _woman of substance_
May dear Aunt Mavis rest in eternal peace with our Heavenly Holy God. And, may our Holy God protect and keep her children and loved ones, as they grieve and celebrate her life.
God bless, love always, Marcia

My grandmother was a force in this world. Generous beyond words and one of the greatest women I will ever know. Her strength inspired me. I stood in awe of her wisdom. Her passing has saden me but I will take comfort that I made her proud and hold close all the memories we shared.
