Obituary of George Bulpit

George passed away peacefully at Winchester District Hospital on November 14, 2024.  George Bulpit of Bradford, Barrie and Russell was in his 96th year.  George was born on July 30, 1929, in Bradford. 

Beloved husband of Ruth for 72 years.  Loving father of Dan (Ann), Rosemary (Rod), Leslie (Don) and Sarah (Ken).  Dear grandfather of Ginny (Jay), Megan, Cliff (Sara), Philip, Jacob and Jack and great-grandfather of Amy, Jenna, Colin, Emily, Hayden, Isla, Asher, Jordan and Mia.  Pre-deceased by his parents Albert Edward and Amy Rose, brothers, Edward (Venetta), Gilbert (Vi, Dolly) and Albert (Joan) and sister Violet (Jack).  Survived by his brother-in-law Tom (late Alice) and sister-in-law Roberta (late Jim, Joe) and many nieces and nephews.

George served 31 years in the Canadian Army, 25 years as a leader with Scouts Canada, 39 years at Central United Church, and 22 years as a volunteer with the Barrie Food Bank until his retirement at the age of 90. 

Visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Road, Bradford, Ontario on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m., followed by interment at 2 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bradford. 

In George’s memory, donations may be made to Winchester District Hospital, the Barrie Food Bank or to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie.
