John Lloyd

Obituary of John Francis Lloyd

John Francis Lloyd passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre on June 8th, 2025, in his 91st year, after a brief yet hard-fought battle with cancer.

Beloved husband of the late Alice Lloyd (nee Smith) for 64 years. Cherished father of Debbie (Frank) Panza and Doug (Lisa) Lloyd. Dear Grandpa to Braydon, Joshua (Allegra), Brooklyn, and Lucas. He was also the dear brother of Edgar (Leila) Lloyd and Helen (late Budd) Robson, and the dear brother-in-law of Velma (late Harold) Bertram. John will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, along with many other family members and friends.

John was born and raised on the family farm on the 5th Line in Bradford, where he continued to work and expand the dairy operation. He had a true passion for breeding and acquiring top-quality Holstein cows to improve the herd's genetics—efforts that helped establish and grow what is still known today as Sprucetone Dairy. In 1959, John married his high school sweetheart, Alice Smith. Together, they built their house and raised their family on the farm—a place John proudly called home until April 2nd, 2025.
