Joshua John Boni

Obituary of Joshua John Boni

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joshua John Boni, who left us far too soon.

Josh will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted parents, Joe and Joanne Boni, his sister Krystal Boni-Costa, brother-in-law Mike Costa,  his beloved nephews, Nicholas and Makais Costa and his best friend and loyal dog Knuckles.

Josh aka “Bones” had an undeniable presence — a man with a big heart and an even bigger personality. A true lover of hockey and an incredible player, he was known for his skill, grit and passion on the ice, yet just as happy cheering from the stands. Wherever he was — rink, backyard, or dog park — Josh always showed up with laughter, compassion, and genuine care for others, lighting up every space and every heart he encountered.

He was an advocate for youth mental health and became an inspiration to many who struggled. His empathy, courage, and willingness to speak openly made others feel seen and less alone.

“The most beautiful souls are those who bear the heaviest burdens and still lift others with kindness. Josh did just that.”

He will be missed beyond words, but his legacy of love, laughter, and hockey will carry on through all who knew and cherished him.

Memorial visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m.
