Lena was such a wonderful woman full of spirit and fire ! I got to know her during my time working as a PSW and I'm sadden to hear of her passing.. I know she loved her children and grandchildren very much as she talked of them all the time.. One of the best ladies I have come across and it will be hard to find another like her such a wonderful and super funny lady she always snuck me treats even when I declined I would go in my pocket afterwards and there it would be! Anytime I think of Disney or Mickey I will forever think of Lena xoxo.

To Barbara, Hilda and families.
Condolences from Gayle and myself. We were saddened to hear of Lena's passing. We haven't seen her for quite some time but remember fond memories we had together, the years we worked together on our farms. We particularly remember the wedding shower Lena had for us, many years ago. We also remember visiting with her at her residence in Treasure Island. Loss of our loved ones brings great pain and we grieve with you. We wish you peace and hope that time will ease the loss.

My sincere condolences on the passing of your mother. Most of my memories are from our childhood when she would scold us for something and pretend to be angry but you could see the smirk on her face.
She lived a long life and will now move on to reunite with your father.

Dear Hilda and family,
So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. The last time I saw you Hilda, was when you were leaving the hospital after you had visited her. I wish I had known because I would have been there for her funeral.
I remember meeting both of you at Tyrone Towers in Florida and talking to her by phone after you had gone home. She told me she drove you to the airport but took the wrong exit going home and landed at Clearwater.

Our deepest sympathies to all the family for your loss. At 93 now myself, I, Joe, don't think I knew Lena back in Romania as kids because she was from a different village than Hans (John Jr.), Helmut and me (we were from Traunau), but we met later in Canada. The big farm up in Holland Marsh was always a source of pride for the Schankula name. I meet Lena when I worked at the Elden. She was my sassy one I loved her. Whenever I go in her room she always tell me to sit so we could talk. Telling me about her family showing me pictures or talking about her farm. She was amazing woman. She made going into work fun. Well not at night she didn’t like me to much when I had to wake her up. Rest in peace
