Obituary of Doreen Harvey

Doreen Harvey (née Holman) passed away peacefully at her residence on October 14th, 2025, in her 93rd year.

Beloved wife of the late Douglas Carl Harvey, with whom she shared 69 years of marriage. Loving mother of Brian (Karen) and Brenda. Proud grandmother of Derek (Tracey), Amanda (Corey), Brett (Anna), and Tyler (Nicole), and cherished great-grandmother of Oliver, Abigail, Cole, Halle, and Parker.

Doreen was a dear sister to Lois and was predeceased by her sisters Barbara and Mildred. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Doreen had many passions that enriched her life, including travel, gardening, and knitting. She treasured the friendships she made through her Book Club and the Imperial Oil Retiree Club (Probus). She took great joy in spending quality time with her family. Above all, Doreen especially loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, recitals, and activities, where she was their most devoted supporter.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Viva Whitby Shores and to the dedicated Personal Support Workers for their exceptional care, kindness, and support over the past four years.

An interment service will be held at Newton Robinson United Church Cemetery, 4386 Line 10, Bond Head, on Friday, October 24th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, a reception will take place at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Road, Bradford, from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.
