Obituary of Daisy Tony Koleff
Daisy Tony Koleff passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, at the age of 96 surrounded by her family. Born on September 28, 1929, she lived a life filled with family, love, tradition, and community. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Nick, in November 2010. Their bond, built on loyalty, laughter, and deep affection, remained a source of comfort and memory throughout her life.
She is lovingly remembered by her three children: Stacy (Tracey), Ted (Sue) and Stefanie (Ron) Lock. She was a devoted Baba to Lindsay, Veronica, Nicole (Jeff), Tyler (Aazi), Victoria (Amin) and Owen and a proud Big Baba to Ariyanna, August, Alaia, Asiyah, and Baran. Her family was her heart, and she poured her love into each of them.
A proud Macedonian, she honored her heritage and ensured it would be carried on through the generations. She taught her children and grandchildren how to make pita, martinkas, and egg bread, and she passed down the joyful Easter tradition of playing chookni together—laughing, teasing, and celebrating in ways that stitched family closely together. These traditions were never just customs; they were gifts of identity, memory, and love.
She had a unique gift for bringing people together. She loved hosting gatherings—big or small—and no one ever left her home hungry. Cooking and sharing meals was one of her greatest joys, and her table overflowed with food, warmth, and laughter. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, spending winters in Florida, and being active at the Danube seniors centre, where she cherished friendships and community.
She will be remembered for her generosity, her humor, her warmth, and the unmistakable feeling of home she created wherever she was. Her legacy lives on in every shared recipe, every family gathering, and every tradition carried forward.
Her family is deeply grateful for her life, her love, and the many memories they will forever hold close. She will be missed beyond words and loved always.
We’d like to thank the Southlake transitional care unit staff for ensuring that her last years were comfortable and that she was well-loved and taken care of. We’d also like to express our appreciation for the 4th floor surgical staff at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and the staff and volunteers at the Margaret Bahen Hospice for supporting us all through her final days.
Visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 13 , 2025 at 10 a.m. Interment at Highland Memory Gardens, North York.
