Obituary of Caroline "Carol" Longridge
With heavy hearts the family of Caroline Longridge (nee Johnston) born May 23, 1946 wish to announce her passing
November 20, 2025 after a short battle with cancer, at Southlake Regional Health Centre.
Loving wife of Norman, mother of Stephen (Evelyn), Joanne (Matthew) and grandmother of Reilly, Garner, Kaylee and Elana. Survived by her brother Mervyn. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Caroline Johnston and her brothers Graham and Billy.
Carol, as she was called by family and friends, lived in Bradford for almost 50 years. Carol was born in Northern Ireland and lived there until she immigrated to Canada November 1963 at the age of 17. Carol arrived in Canada with her father Charles and her best friend. Carol was a homemaker, staying home for the early years with her children. Later on she worked as a Nurse’s Aid, a job she was proud of and passionate about. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed taking drives, knitting, and had great love for animals, having cared for many dogs and cats over the years.
Memorial visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. followed by a reception.
Carol was a regular supporter of charities Sick Kids Foundation, Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, CNIB, Diabetes Canada and an ongoing supporter and member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
