With profound sadness and deep love, our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, Arminda Maia Balugas, who left this world peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the age of 98. A devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was the quiet strength at the center of our family and a living example of resilience, faith, and unconditional love.

Beloved wife of late Joao. Loving mother of Isaura (Carlos) Da Silva, John (late Lucy) Balugas, Maria (Jose) Cruz-Dias (late Antonio Cruz) and Luisa (Paulo) Coquim. Proud Avô of Sylvia, Neil (Kim), Jessica, Mason (Vanessa), Danny (Danielle), Michael, Cassandra (Decio), Andrew, Anthony (Jessica) and Celina. Cherished Bisavô of Sophia, Scarlet, Chloe, Trey, Nolan, Mianna, Keanu and Micky.

Visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Road, Bradford on Monday, December 1, 2025 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.   Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Martyrs of Japan Church, 167 Essa Street, Bradford on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 11 a.m.  Interment to follow at Holy Martyrs of Japan Catholic Cemetery, Bradford.

In Arminda's memory, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or to Matthews House Hospice.
