Obituary of Bernadette "Bernie" Pombiere

Bernie peacefully passed away with family by her side at Southlake Residential Care Village, Newmarket on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 88 years of age.

Beloved wife of late Fred Pombiere. Loving mom of Karen Hargrave (Scott), Jim Pombiere (Lisa), Mike Pombiere (Barb) and Maria Gucciardi (Joe). Proud Nana of Corrie, Holly; Kyle, Owen; Brandon, Nicole; Juliana and Andrew (Angela). Also survived by her sister Frances Jurgens and sister-in-law Marie Abbott. 

Bernie was an active member and past president of both the Holy Martyrs of Japan Church CWL and the Gilford Lions Club.

Visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Road, Bradford on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Martyrs of Japan Church, 167 Essa Street, Bradford on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Martyrs of Japan Catholic Cemetery, Bradford.
