Obituary of Ninka Hovius

Ninka peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family at Oak Ridges Hospice, Port Perry on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 97 years of age.

Beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” Hovius. Loving mother of Jacob (Cathy) Hovius, Jeannette (Andrew) Radder, Sidney (Elizabeth) Hovius, and Robert (Michele) Hovius. Proud grandma of late Janelle, Danielle and Daryl (Mel); Michael (Lissette) and Kristina; Graham (Melissa), Evan (Rebecca), Warren (Megan) and Darin (Kaily); Dustin (Cara), Nicole (Dusty), Jamie (Lyneia), Melissa (Brad) and Joshua (Jenn). Cherished great oma of Jailynn, Colton, Carmen, Isabel, late Stella, Noah, Aidan, Kailyn, Preston, Bronson, William, Emma, Eve, India, Veda, Jove, Jordyn, Ainsley, Jack, Hayden, Emmett, Bobby, Bruce, Amelia, and Austin. Ninka will also be lovingly remembered by her siblings and their families.

Visitation will be held at the Holland Marsh Christian Reformed Church, 18935 Dufferin St., Newmarket on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. until time of a funeral service in the Church at 11:30 a.m.
