Robert "Bob" Deugo

Obituary of Robert "Bob" Brian Deugo

Robert peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at Toronto General Hospital (where he was born) on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 78 years of age.

Beloved husband of Susan (nee Cathie) for 58 years. Loving father of Shane (Louise). Proud Poppa of Emma and Bruce (Maddy). Dear brother of Sharon (late Jim), David (late Kris), Doug (Karen), late Don (Joyce), late Kerrie (Rick) and Colleen (Mike). Robert will also be fondly remembered by his 52 nieces and nephews, his 50 cousins and many cherished friends and colleagues.

Robert started his career in 1965 at Ontario Hydro as a learner lineman. He became the crew foreman and area foreman in Newmarket until 1993 where he transitioned to Innisfil Hydro. Robert was the line superintendent and later the director of engineering and operations at Innisfil Hydro until his retirement in 2007.

Robert loved all activities outdoors. Whether it was hunting deer, turkey, moose at the family hunt camp in the Pakenham Mountains or fishing all times of the year. He loved to spend time with this family and friends and was very generous with his time to help others.

Robert had a strong faith in Jesus and knew he would be in His presence.

Special thank you to Dr. Jenny Peng for her continued care and support of Robert.

Visitation will be held at Cedarview Community Church, 1000 Gorham St., Newmarket on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Luncheon to follow.

In Robert's memory, donations may be made to the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre at Southlake Health, Salvation Army or Cedarview Community Church, Newmarket.
