Obituary of Els (Maria) Jonkhout

Els (Maria) peacefully passed away, with family at her side at Bradford Valley Care Community on Friday, June 26, 2026. Maria "Els" Jonkhout (nee Pirson) of Holland Landing at 98 years of age.

Beloved wife of late Giel Jonkhout. Loving mom of Jack (Joan), late Phyllis (Gilles) Gendron, Jeff (Elsie), Theo, Gary (Theresa), Martin (Janet), Marge and Paul. Els will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Els will also be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews in the Netherlands.

Visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton Parish, 17955 Leslie St., Newmarket on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. followed by cremation.
