Terry Alfred Wright

1956 - 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Wright, aged 69, who left us peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, surrounded by the love of his family.

Terry is lovingly remembered by his daughter Shelly and her husband Ken McBride. He was a proud Grampa to Bailey (Hannah) and Kelsey, and a cherished Great Grampa to William and Matthew. He is also survived by his brother Dale (Lorraine).  Terry will also be fondly remembered by his nephews and niece Kyle (Sarah), Chris and Sarah (Donny). Terry was predeceased by his beloved parents, Howard and Gladys Wright.

Living a life defined by hard work.  He spent his career in the automotive industry, where his dedication, skill, and strong work ethic earned him the deep respect of his colleagues and friends throughout the years.

Outside of work, Terry lived life out loud and embraced the things that brought him joy. He had a deep love for music and could often be found strumming his guitars, humming away on the harmonica or listening to his favourite tunes. On any clear day, he loved to be outside or out on the open road, riding his Harley.  He appreciated the simple things in life, like wrapping up a long day with a ice cold beer in hand.

To know Terry was to know joy. He was a natural joker who was always making people laugh, and his laugh was contagious to us all.  Beneath his fun-loving exterior sat a truly gentle soul.  He cared deeply for his loved ones, showing his affection through his kindness and presence.

The family will receive friends at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 19153 Centre Street, in Mt. Albert on Saturday, August 8th,  2026 from 11   a.m. until time of a memorial service at 12 noon.

 A celebration of Terry's life will follow at the Sutton Royal Canadian Legion Branch #356, 21 East St, Sutton West, ON L0E 1R0 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Please join the family to share a story, share some laughs, and raise a glass to a man who brought so much warmth and laughter to our world. Food and Refreshments will be served.  Cash Bar with ATM on site.

The Chain

We little knew that morning,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, 
you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you,
you are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems to be the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.
