To Sandra, Jessica and Glenn, Jane and I express our deepest sympathy.
As a co- worker and a platoon mate, Fred was determined yet light-hearted. I was always proud and comforted to have that big dude by my side. Fred extended that same determination and light-hearted approach to golf. So many good times at Bradford detachment were organized by Fred. Whether at work or play, Fred always had the welfare of others in mind.

Dear Sandra, Jessica and family:
I am deeply saddened to hear about Fred's sudden passing. Fred and I worked together at Bradford Detachment in the mid-sixties. He was a kind friend and a mentor to all who had the privilege of working with him. Fred was always an officer and a gentleman and will be sorely missed. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this extremely difficult time.

Dear Sandra, Jessica, and other dear members of the Longthorne family,
I am shocked to hear of Fred's sudden passing. He was a kind and gentle man, and I know he will be greatly missed. When I used to spend the summers at my grandma's home just across the street, your house became such a staple of my childhood. I remember stomping (with probably too wet feet) in from the pool to say thank you to Fred and Sandra for letting me swim about, or asking Fred what he was watching while he sat on his comfy seat, or if he saw any cool animals in the neighbourhood lately. He was always willing to answer my questions or tell me a story from his police days, and those small moments will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace, and continue to live on in all the memories of everyone who loved him.
Our Deepest Condolences,
Sarah & Bohdan Zanchetta

Sandra – thinking of you during this difficult time. As already stated in tributes, Fred was a true gentleman. He was always approachable for guidance and advice. Ruby and I always enjoyed his stories and his wonderful smile. I will always remember a sports weekend he arranged for four of us (with John Allan and Gord Marriott): Saturday night hockey Buffalo vs Toronto, Sunday afternoon Buffalo Bills game, and Sunday evening Toronto vs Buffalo hockey game. Awesome weekend! Rest in peace, good friend.

Dear Sandra, Jessica and Glenn,
We will ALWAYS remember our very dear friend, Fred. He was always so kind, full of fun and laughter and warm concern for each and everyone with whom he was in close contact. Our get-togethers throughout the years on golf courses, in other various places, homes and "fish and chip" restaurants will forever be cherished memories!
Please know that our hearts are truly broken with this loss but we are grateful that he is no longer in pain and suffering.
With our deepest and loving sympathies,
Gord, Iris, Shannon Lee and Thom Marriott (and families)
