Obituary of Joseph W. "Joe" Fracz

Joe peacefully passed away with family at his side at Southlake Health, Newmarket on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 77 years of age.

Beloved husband of Mary for 53 years. Loving dad of Aimee (Ken) Tribbling and Becca (Dominic) Reynolds. Proud Boppa of Cole, Connor, Austin and Kaden. Joe will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings and their families.

Joe came to Canada as a child in 1950 and his family eventually settled in the Durham Region. As an adult, Joe began his professional career at Bell Canada where he met his future wife Mary. Their love grew into a wonderful marriage of 53 years that was blessed with the joy of two beautiful daughters and 4 amazinggrandsons.

Joe was a Construction Manager that retired from Bell Canada after 25 years. Wanting to stay busy, Joe decided to continue working in the Philippines for one year. After returning home from overseas, Joe continued his career as a Construction Manager for the City of Toronto.

Joe’s passion and love for classic cars was always on display. He was a car collector but also had the skillsets to rebuild classics like his 1963 Chevy Corvette. This was a love that has been passed on to his daughters and his grandsons. 

Joe loved spending time with his wife Mary. Some would say the two were inseparable. If Joe wasn’t with Mary, he could be found helping his family or assisting around the Tribbling Farm. Joe absolutely loved helping out around the farm. 

Joe leaves behind an example for his children and grandchildren to follow, with his unconditional love for family, hard work and friendship to others. He was loved for his friendly, gentle nature and will be missed by all. 

The family wants to extend their thanks to Joe’s doctors who have assisted in his healthcare over the past 14 years. They also want to thank the doctors, nurses and caregivers at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Stronach Regional Cancer Centre and Princess Margaret Hospital. Your care for Joe over the years is greatly appreciated and we thank you for making Joe comfortable during his final days.

Private family arrangements will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Stronach Regional Cancer Centre at Southlake Health.
