Dear Eileen, wasn't it only yesterday (1971) that we first met, when you helped me settle into employment at York University? And following on from that first meeting, when my circle expanded through meeting your parents and Joe's parents and all of you meeting my parents? Remember house parties with Scottish country dancing and riotous games of UNO? Enjoying BBQs with the Bond Head neighbours? Freezing at the bottom of your driveway waiting for the BH Christmas Parade? Camping at Arrowhead? Singing Old MacDonald Had a Farm – in Italian – during a drive back from a fall fair? I'm a longtime friend of Amanda's (Pip's) and would have met Eileen occasionally during our college years. I was glad to have known her and she always seemed to be so upbeat and supportive during these times.
Our heartfelt condolences to all her family and friends and may she rest in peace.

My heartfelt sympathy to Joe and the family.
I met Eileen when we were volunteers at the Osler School
in Bond Head, listening to the young children read.
She was a good listener. We often sat in the car in our driveway
sharing the ups & downs of our lives.

I met Eileen through my Common Elements band affiliation with Joe a few years ago and to this day. Eileen’s love and support was apparent for Joe’s many talents and his dedication to his craft. Having now read her obituary it’s very evident why.
My talks with Eileen were very much centred around Scotland/Canada’s music scene, she had a deep passion. We talked extensively about Highland Games and the bands who performed, especially Fergus, their annual fix. I was a member of Toronto Police Pioes & Drums late 80’s/90’s and I found Eileen recalled listening to our winning performances. Her knowledge, laughter of life’s experiences was enough to embrace her friendship. I will miss those exchanges.
To Joe and extensive family, I am grateful to have my life dignified by Eileen for the short time knowing her. I truly will miss her.
