Obituary of John Ben Carmen Church

Ben passed away peacefully in his 82nd year, at Bradford Valley Long Term Care on Friday, August 9, 2013 in the arms of his family. Predeceased by his loving wife Isobel (nee Horner) of 48 years and his great grandson Landon. Adored father of Cathy (Lynn), Gary (Nicole), Patty (Craig), Jim (Heather) and Don (Teresa). Poppa, Paprika will be missed by his 11 grandchildren, Jon, Andy, Kaitlyn, Scott, Sarah, Alison, Jason, Jessica, Matthew, Erica and Alex and his 2 great granddaughters Ella and Sydney.  Dad will be fondly remembered by nephew Paul and many nieces and nephews. Ben enjoyed the companionship of everyone he met�whether it was coffee hour at home, theatre with a friend, chatting with the cashier at the local pharmacy or his volunteer work at the hospital. If Dad were here he would want us to thank the staff at the Clock Tower Inn and those at Bradford Valley Long Term Care for their passionate care and many gestures of kindness extended to him including the volunteers who sat with Dad this week. Thank you to Dr. Bida, Dr. Nikon, Dr. Roberts, Dr. Thorne and Dr. Gupta for their care of Dad. At this time the family would like to thank all the people in the community who came to the aid of an elderly gent looking for just one more adventure. At the family�s request, a graveside service was held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Bradford.
