Laszlo Radvanyi

Obituary of Laszlo Radvanyi

Passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket at the age of 90 on Sunday, September 27, 2015, Born August 20, 1925 in Bodrogkisfalud, Hungary. He and his wife Katalin immigrated to Canada in 1957, settling on the Holland Marsh where they farmed carrots and onions.  A self taught master machinist, Laci also designed and built a wide variety of farm equipment used on the marsh, including seeders, sprayers, topper beds and harvesters.  He could seemingly repair any piece of equipment brought to his small shop.  It was a place he went to continuously, remaining busy with projects until these recent days. Laci is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Katalin (nee Repasi), his son Les, daughter-in-law Cathy, and his 2 cherished granddaughters Maddie and Claire.  He was a proud Papa and lived long enough to see his granddaughters attend university. Laci was dedicated to his family and always willing to help. He will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts. Friends may gather at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, Bradford for a visitation on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held at Kettleby Cemetery. Sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses in the Medical and Intensive Care Unit at Southlake Regional Health Centre for their excellent care and kind words.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of Canada or the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at www.skwarchukfuneralhome.com.
