The Darmaga family would like to extend our condolences, albeit late.
My race involvement is one of my favourite memories - times burned into memory not only because it was fun but primarily because it was w/ the support & care of people like Ralph and Jen - it was always comforting to remember the kindness and care that was always there for us.

We were deeply saddened to learn of Ralph's passing. His incredible warmth, love for Jenn and his family, and his immense consideration for all those around him were all traits that we admired. Ralph had a tremendous ability to make every person feel special.
We have known Ralph and Jenn for 10 years through our good friends Ian and Mo Wood in Beaverton. A wonderful friendship developed right from the beginning and we always looked forward to our time with them. Our times together were fun filled with great conversation and awesome food. Ralph typically manned the BBQ with his culinary skills. Great memories were made whether we were having a beer on the deck, joining them for dinners in Newmarket, kayaking on L. Simcoe, or out for a cycle around Beaverton,
Our hearts go out to you Jenn, Caleb, Emily and Families. We hope with time your pain will diminish and your hearts will be filled with wonderful memories of an extra special man.
Love, Joanne and Kevin

How fortunate we all were, especially Jenn, Emily and Caleb, to have had Ralph in our lives . There was so much “Special” packed into that one big man with such a huge heart.
Our hearts are breaking from the unfairness of his being taken far too soon - this bright light being extinguished so early. It will be our wonderful memories of Ralph that will help break through the profound sadness we all feel, and fill our hearts again with the warm glow of such a good and special man.
One only had to see him with his family and his grandson Levi to know what “twue wuve” looked like. But Ralph also showed his love in his interactions with all of us, so now it is up to us to live our lives with his love in our hearts and to keep his memory alive, especially for his adored grandson Levi. Ralph never missed an opportunity to swoop-up his little Levi in his arms.
Ralph had a way of making us all feel special – he “doted” on us all, and it was a good thing.
Our sincere condolences to the whole family and extended family.

It has been 11 years since Ralph and I crossed paths at the Cookstown Curling Club. In 1994, I joined the club and was asked to revive the Monday Night Men's League. Ralph was one of the first to greet me. HIs smile was larger than life and the warmth and offer to help in anyway he could melted away much of my concern about the task at hand.
He was supportive, quiet most of the time, but stood large when a voice from the crowd was needed to quietly push the revival of the league. I always remember him smiling. The Monday Night League grew from 8 teams to 16 quickly due to the support of members like Ralph. I loved curling with him or sitting afterwards and sharing stories
He and Jennifer were once again supportive when a junior program was started. The infancy years of this program were difficult. They both saw their children, and mine, benefit from the wonderful sport with warm camaraderie and skills. We made it work as well.
The years melted away when I heard the news. His humanity is something i have never forgotten. His smile pierced through his beard and his quiet approach to me made my tasks at the Club so much easier.
I extend my heartfelt condolences on behalf of myself, my son Zachary and daughter Leona. Ralph was very kind and supportive when they crossed paths at or away from the Club.
