Linda and I were very saddened to hear of Bill's passing.
I was a classmate of Bill's at CMR and RMC, and have always thought of bill as a friend. The term used in his obituary, jocular, is very appropriate for your dad. He had a dry sense of humour that I very much enjoyed.
Linda and I spent time with Bill at this year's Old Brigade reunion, and had some good conversations and some good laughs.
I did note a sense of sadness in Bill this last visit. It appeared that he was still processing Lynda's tragic death.
Bill will be remembered by us all.

Dear Lindsay, Kristy, Ashley, Scott and families,
We are so very sorry to hear of your father's passing. I had a lovely phone chat with him shortly after your mom's terrible accident. (We were devastated to hear about your mother (and uncle) and know that she is also missed very much by friends and co-workers.) Your dad spoke so proudly of you all and it was nice to hear where you are and what you have accomplished.
I remember having wonderful interactions with you at school and do think of each of you fondly. Just know that our hearts are full and that our warm thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Most sincerely,
Gord and Iris Marriott

Dear Kristy,
I was saddened & shocked to receive your e-mail.
Your Dad & I go back to Westmount High School [Class of 1966]. As you can see from our contacts on his e-mail account, we re-connected during the 50th Anniversary Reunion in Montreal last July, vowing to stay in touch.
We spent a delightful morning together at the reunion brunch. He was a great table companion. It was somewhat ironic that we both lamented the premature passing of classmates. We also came to the sobering realization that we were both much older than our teachers when they taught us.
My thoughts & condolences go out to your family - and particularly to your Grandmother - who your Dad thought the world of.

The news of Bill's passing has been a shock to Mary and me. Our sincere condolences go out to the Baynton family.
I've known Bill as a business partner from the '70s in the HVAC company and maintained our connection even after our migration to Calgary. I tried to entice Bill to join me out west, but that was not to be. We did enjoy Kristy's stay with us while she was studying in Calgary. By Skype, Facebook, and email, we communicated regularly and I will miss these exchanges. Bill enjoyed taking pictures so whether it was of him with Lynda on their spring breaks or of his growing family, they were always enjoyed by Mary and me.
Bill left us far too soon. We will be thinking of your family on Tuesday.

We fondly remember our years at Westmount High in Montreal with Bill who was a classmate of ours. He was a terrific inspiring person and good friend, and of course a great athlete and student. He cheerfully lead others to excellence in academics and in sports by example. It was wonderful to reconnect with him at our 50th graduation Reunion this summer in Montreal and again with the Toronto group this autumn. It was a great pleasure and honour to know him as a teenager and young man and we cherished the opportunity to rekindle old friendships and to plan more time together. We are so terribly saddened by the untimely and far too early loss of this wonderful person, and so sorry for this deep loss suffered by his beloved family that he spoke of so often, so proudly, and with such a warm glowing love literally lighting up his face as he spoke. We will miss you so much Bill. We wish your family peace as you are reunited with Your cherished wife, Lynda, and the family members who have gone before you.
