Deepest condolences to you, Verna and the family on Eric's passing.
He will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched with his sense
of humor and other attributes.
I will always remember our version of "Oktoberfest" in the fall at Kon Tiki
Marine. Eric would supervise the moving of the organ off the "Aqua Gem"
in order to provide music for the party. The music came alive on his touch.
May your memories help sustain you during this difficult time.

Words cannot describe the emptiness we feel by Eric's departure. However, the void is being quickly filled by many fond memories of times past. Fond memories with him for us were made in Ontario and Florida. Also, times together in the province of Quebec, the Maritimes, and many distant Floridian haunts. He was a great person that loved life. He loved his lifetime partner, Verna, and the wonderful family they raised. There is a feeling of warmth when we look into the future. We will all, in time, reunite with Eric in a new infinite life circle.
Eric led an interesting and active life. He was a keen businessman, both in profession and success. He enjoyed many things: boating, traveling, motor home life, playing the piano, and of course, eating out for breakfast. Now, dining out for Eric was not just a healthy start to his day. It was a social event. By the time the meal was done, he knew every person that worked there, plus a few fellow customers. Yes, he was well known throughout his travels.
To illustrate just how popular he was, I'm reminded of an event some years back. The Pope was visiting Toronto and was to speak at a large venue at what was then the Downsview Airport. With millions of spectators present, I saw Eric walk up on the stage and start talking to the Pope. Hardly believing my eyes, I asked a stranger that was standing near me, if he knew who that was on the stage. After a brief pause he said, "I don't know who the guy is in the beanie, but the other fellow is Eric Stovold."
This is sounding more like a eulogy. Sorry, back to the condolences. We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the entire Stovold family and to anyone that knew and called Eric a friend.
Eric, jusqu'a ce que nous retrouvons, nous disons adieu pour i'instant. Tu nous manqueras tellement mon ami.
