Obituary of Anna Mikos
Passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket at 85 years of age. Anna was born on May 12, 1931 in Szentgotthard, Hungary. She was the youngest of 3 children. She was married on March 27, 1951 to Andras Mikos. Moving to Canada with her husband and 2 young children in December of 1956 from their native Hungary. The family moved to the Holland Marsh shortly after arriving in Toronto; joined family members already established in the “Marsh” farming community. It’s here that she spent her life working and raising her young family. She loved to cook and garden and spent endless moments reminiscing of her childhood and family. We have her and dad to thank for instilling us with a strong work ethic, love for family and above all an uncompromising passion and a deep love of Canada, a new home that welcomed us with open arms and hearts. Anna was preceded in death by her parents Maria and Imre Bokor, her husband Andras and her two brothers Dr. Kalman Bokor and Imre Bokor. Anna is survived by her 2 children Andras and Anna “Agi” (Peter) Hubrich; her 3 granddaughters Kathleen (Jeremy) Mason, Sarah Mikos and Chantal Hubrich; her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special thank you to Mrs. Julia Gorzo for being such a good friend to mom, as well Mrs. Barbara Toth and Mrs. Mary Toth.
