Jim, Diane, Larry and family.
My heartfelt sympathy is with you during this time.
When I remember Aunt Irene, I think of all the times she was there for Mom, Dave and I when we were growing up. Whether it was a weekend visit, sharing Christmas with her family or gatherings for the whole Pyle family, Aunt Irene was the central figure to all of the wonderful memories.
She taught me how to mix the red dot in the margarine, how to pick carrots for supper, how to feed the sheep and watch out for the ram. I remember the family budgie occasionally getting loose, Uncle Staff sitting in his chair watching TV and that the kitchen was the central part of the house for food, fun and family. Most of all, I remember we always felt welcome and loved by her.
We all have our special memories, which are only alive because of her and I know we will all miss her. But we will also remember her with great love and thankfulness that we were lucky enough to have her in our lives.

Dianne, Larry and family..
Hard to find words to describe one of the most beautiful women I ever had the pleasure to meet and who in addition to being your Mother also was the older sister of my wife Mildred Tweed.
Mildred used to say that Irene was like her surrogate Mother when she was a child. With their own Mother Gertrude Pyle often being so busy attending to all her flock..Irene would take the time to always look after her little sister..Mildred.
Over the years one of the great pleasures for Mildred and I was to receive a letter from Irene..and yes..she did write on both sides of the paper! Her letters were informative, newsy and at least two cups of tea to read all that she had taken the time to write.
Was so fortunate the last two summers with the help of Dianne to visit Irene in Georgetown where we enjoyed a delightful lunch filled with laughter and a few tears and rather than one of her letters was able to catch up in person which I will treasure always.
Irene was beautiful..she was bright..she was a true friend..and..she will be missed not just by me but all of the many people she touched in such a positive manner over the years..

Jim, Dianne, Larry and your families my deepest condolences. Aunt Irene was a true lady. Her and Staff were always kind and happy to see people come to visit out in the country. I remember as a little kid going to a family reunion at Staff and Irene's, everybody laughing, having lots of fun, playing games and sharing great food. The Pyle family had the gift of sitting around the table together playing cards and Granny's home made runny butter tarts. The kids would play together, playing hide and go seek.
I will always remember the great memories.

My deepest condolences to Jim, Dianne, Larry and your families. I have such fond memories of Aunt Irene, from her teaching me how to garden in her big vegetable garden to her amazing smile & laugh, always showing love for her family and a great spirit of life. I feel she was the Matriarch of our family, she seemed to know how almost all of us were even though the extended family is spread far wide. We have lost a beautiful woman and the world does not seem the same without her in it.
Love Elizabeth (Mildreds daughter)

My deepestest sympathies. Auntie Irene was the most wonderful, sweetest Aunt ever. I have so many fond memories of being at her and Uncle Staff's house, the reunions. I always thought of her as the string that held the family together.
