Obituary of Richard "Rick" Johnson

Richard (Rick) Marcellin Johnson, 61, of Bradford, Ontario, passed at home on August 7, 2018.

Rick was born in Elgin, Illinois on June 16, 1957, the second of six boys to Emilia Gauthier and Morris Johnson.  In 1959 Rick and his family moved to Corbeil, Ontario, the home of his mother.  Rick attended Ecole Secondaire Algonquin in North Bay where he excelled at everything he studied.  In 1978 Rick graduated from Canadore College with a diploma in Business Administration.  Rick was a sales manager at Windsor Salt for over twenty years, followed by ten years as a buyer for ITWAL.

Rick was especially proud of his two daughters, Vanessa and Stephanie.  Rick took great joy in the lives of his daughters and two grandsons, who called him Papa Ricky, and his many nieces and nephews, especially Collin and Craig who had great adventures with their uncle. Rick was a loving and supportive father and grandfather and was always there for his family. He especially loved playing with his grandchildren, who brought him great joy.  

Rick is survived by his mother Emilia, father Morris, daughter Vanessa and son-in-law Derek,  grandsons Liam and Brayden, daughter Stephanie and fiancé Ben.  Rick is also survived by his brothers Gene (Dina), Mike (Kelly), Rob, Brian (Brenda Lee), and Raymond (Genevieve).

Rick will be greatly missed for his sense of humour and the love and pride he had for his family.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick’s name can be made to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto.
