Dear Alice,
Alice was like an aunt to me. She was always welcoming whenever I visited her and John, and her John and Andy before that! She always looked after everyone who came by until she could do it no more. And then she still kept up her dignity. There was often a knowing glance in my direction, a smile, her eyes shining with meaning, perhaps a touch with her hand to emphasize a point. I will dearly miss her.
