1939-2019

Dieter peacefully passed away at home with family at his side on Sunday, January 20, 2019. Dieter von Thelen of Bradford at 79 years of age. Beloved husband of Lieselotte for 53 years. Loving dad of Sylvia and Gabriela (Robert Newton). Proud Opa of Sofie and Stefanie. Dieter will be fondly remembered by his family and friends in Canada and Austria, as being strong minded, loved his work as a Lithographer, always eager to share stories of his life, loved to tend to his vegetable garden, cook and bake, especially cheesecake and rumballs, and in earlier years enjoyed sailing, golfing and fishing. Friends will be received at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford (1-800-209-4803) for visitation on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Private family arrangements will be made for cremation. In Dieter’s memory, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
