Obituary of Alexander "Al" Zong

Peacefully passed away at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. Al Zong of Barrie and formerly of Tottenham at 72 years of age.  Beloved husband of Ria (nee Sytsma). Loving stepfather of Julia (Theo) DeVries and Henry (Barb) Viersen.  Proud gramps of Amanda (Brad), Jake, Luke (Laura), Meaghan (Michel), Kate (Allan), Johnny (Nikki) and Cassie (Chris). Gramps will also be fondly remembered by his 12 great grandchildren. Cherished son of the late James and the late Marion Zong. Dear brother of Sandy and Sharon. Al will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and his many friends in the communities of Tottenham and Barrie. Friends will be received at Barrie First Christian Reformed Church, 33 Shirley Ave., Barrie for visitation on Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Church at 1 p.m. In Al’s memory, donations may be made to Respiratory Inpatient at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.
