I have many fond memories of Peggy and while many were around canoeing, something we both shared with Iain, not all of them were.
One that she and I both would reflect on from time to time occurred when her mother was staying over and I was practicing with Iain which was followed by a late night meeting on some topic or another related to canoeing. During the course of the evening I began to feel ill and it hit with a vengeance, so much so that I displaced her mother from her bed as I could not get any further than 20 feet from my chair. I was quite ill throughout the evening and she sat with me right on through to the morning. I felt like I had gone to the other side and back but was incredibly grateful that she was by my side and looked after me that evening. From that day forward we often joked about me bumping her mother out of her bed that evening.
She was both caring, funny and over the years we shared many laughs about one thing or another. I think in life the best legacy we can leave is the memories we create with others that last well beyond our actual lives and I believe that anyone who shared time with Peggy will remember her for years to come and it will bring smiles and laughter which is one of the greatest gifts a person can leave behind.

May we all find solace in the infinite wisdom as written by Khalil Gibran (The Prophet):
“For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.”
Fly high to the eternal source dear Peggy.

Dear Craig family,
I was so sorry to hear of cousin Peggy's passing. She was always so good to me, so loving, caring and friendly. Memories of spending wonderful family times at Aunt Lucy and Uncle Laurie's. I also especially remember, as a child, going to see Uncle Len, Aunt Mabel, Jimmy and Peggy in Etobicoke. It seemed like such a long car ride back then. I remember never wanting to leave, they had the best basement ever. So many toys, and so much fun.
May all your memories give you peace during this very difficult time.

I was blessed to spend my childhood with the Craig family on Bowers Road. Andrea and I would play dress up in Peggy's flowy summer dresses, eat her savory meals (then annoy Scott) and ride 'Cadiz', the horse Peggy brought to the farm because of the love Andrea had for them. I will never forget her kindness. My condolences. Sandra xoxo

I just heard from Anne H of Peggy's passing. This comes as quite a shock. We were aware that she had some health issues, but were not aware that they had progressed so much.
Please accept our sincere condolences. Ian, you are in our thoughts, as are your children.
