Dear Jonkman Family:
My family and I are long time residents of the Town of Bradford (30 + years), therefore we are very familiar with your families contribution to the growth of Bradford. Personally, I worked for our wonderful municipality and got to know Frank Jr. who spoke highly of his family ~ especially his dear mom. I had the opportunity to meet her just once and her big smile will forever stay with me. Please accept our sincere sympathy. May it help to know that your friends are thinking of you at this difficult time.

Our family has only wonderful memories of Dorothy, she was the bright light in everyone's day. There has not been a happier or more loving soul.
Dorothy made a true difference in the world, bringing people together, making everyone feel like they belong, taking care to ensure that all had what they needed, and making everyone around her know they were always loved.
Mrs. Jonkman, as I came to know her was full of life, bursting with energy, always keen to make you laugh and always quick to defend those she loved. Dorothy was able to see what so few of us do, the best in everyone she met.
So very sad to here of her passing.

My deepest condolences to the family. Dorthy was a dedicated wife, mother, aunt, grandmother to a loving family. She was a great role model and inspiration to all. A hard working person both in person and in the many years running a family business. Her warm smile lit up the room, she was always willing to listen and offer kind words of wisdom and knowledge. May you find comfort in knowing that she has left many like myself with special memories of her life through many years of engagement as she loved life and people. With sadness we let her go as her time has come, find comfort in knowing she is not alone as Jeremy is with her now and one day you too will join her. Prayers to the family.

I am saddened by the news, Dorothy gave me a great deal of happiness each and every time I was lucky enough to spend time with her. Each of the family gave me kindness I know came from Dorothy and Frank, at a time when I needed very much people whom I felt I could trust and rely upon, Dorothy was there along with Frank. The number 1 best place of work and I speak of the lunch laughter often to others, Dorothy was often the one who made me laugh the most. Always to be in my memory fondly. Michael Watson and family.

Saying Goodbye to an Angel called Dorothy, and may my cherished memories of your Loved one bring you comfort in the days ahead. Our Sincere and deepest Sympathy to Frank and all the family.
As I am typing the words to share my feelings about this very special person that came into my life very suddenly and owe so much, and I have promised to pay back wherever I see and feel the need.
I found, in Dorothy, what I thought I would never see again, when she entered our lives. In my son James's words, "Dorothy was a true Christian." she did not just talk the talk she lived each day in her faith and love of all humanity.
If one were to identify what Christian meant, you just had to point to Dorothy and meeting her and Frank, through my young friend Jay, gave me hope and a renewal of my Faith there is no question about that. I remember being at my limit in a situation that I felt had no way out; but through Jay, my young hero who said to me that I should not worry because he owed me one and he would just ask Dorothy and Frank and they would stand by me. And it was like winning the lottery they did stand by me and my son. For that I will forever be grateful.
Imagine your son or daughter having that strong of faith in your actions as he did in his parents.
Dorothy, was a Force, She was kind and gentle. She was a wife, and a Mother first and foremost loving all her children, and a great girlfriend; she had a few faults but they were the kind that made the world a brighter place to be. Yet she could fight you to the brink if you dared to be unkind or mean especially sneaky mean. She sure did not care for that at all.
Life happens and I know we all have regrets but I sure do wish I had been a better communicator, I am trying to rectify that in her memory because when I think of her, I see a smile a mile wide and two baby blues with direct sincerity, a true Sinequanon.
That Christmas she presented me with a Plack that I have in my home still and will always have, it reads,
_May you find the STRENGTH to FACE TOMORROW in the LOVE that SURROUNDS you TODAY.
I will repeat this phrase often as she is leaving a very big void and I am happy to share this phrase with all that loved her, please know that it was one of her very favourites.

It was with much sadness that l read the dear loss of Dorothy on social media. She was a special lady and very much respected by our family. We will never forget the compassion, care and support she provided our family while our dad was employed with your family business and diagnosed with cancer. The entire Jonkman family supported us from the first day we received the shocking news, to his surgery and then his return on light duty until he could no longer do what was required and had to retire. Amazing human being who always thought and took care of others. May God give you all the strength to continue forward with all the beautiful memories she has left you all with. If there is anything we can do to support you Frank and or the rest of family please let us know. Our sincere condolences
