Obituary of Sharon Powis
It’s with great sadness that we lost the rock of our family, Sharon Elizabeth Powis (Harrison) at the age of 71. Born in 1948, youngest of two daughters, parents Rhoda Harrison (Cartmell)(1994) & Ernest Edgar Harrison (1955) grew up in King City. The family later moved to Newmarket and then settled in Bradford since 1987. Sharon passed peacefully with her son and family by her side at Southlake Regional Hospital on Wednesday June 26th 2019. Sharon is survived by her son Jeffrey James Powis (Roddie Saunders), sister JoAnne Harrison (Carl) niece & two nephews. Sharon truly was an inspiration to all that knew her, she was always happy no matter what came her way. Living with Rheumatoid Arthritis since the age of 16 and going through over 36 operations in her lifetime she was a trooper, and always came out being a jokester. She truly knew how to make one laugh, when she was the one going through great pain. Her witty humour was always a good laugh when she would come out after an operation or procedure. Unfortunately this time was different and she wasn’t coming back to grace us with something quick and hilarious to say. We are deeply going to miss her and are sure she is already making her mother and father laugh in Heaven, while dancing away in her beautiful white dress and white high heel shoes. She will be watching her son Jeffrey & (Roddie) from above. We will remember all the good times we shared and cry when that time strikes. We are going to miss you so much Momma. Love Always your Son and Family. A Celebration of Life will take place at her home on Saturday July 6th 2019 from 4pm to 6pm with friends and Family at 24 Queen Street, Bradford. White and turquoise are her favourite colours so come dressed light and truly celebrate her bright, spirited life. All our welcome.
