I was so sorry to hear of Sally's passing. Sally and my mother (Peggy) were table-mates at Cedarvale Lodge and I joined them for lunch in the diningroom every now and then -- I so enjoyed getting to know her on those occasions. What a sweet woman and lovely friend to Mom she was. My husband's parents came from Ukraine after WWII, and Mike and Sally enjoyed speaking to each other in Ukrainian whenever he visited -- it gave Sally a real kick to dust off her Ukrainian! The rest of us just "listened" for our names :) She had a terrific sense of humour and such a warm heart. She took me up to her apartment one time and proudly showed me all the photographs of her family members, whom she loved so very much. Mom misses Sally terribly and I sure missed her sweet face when I was at Cedarvale today to see mom -- the little memorial set up in the cafe was lovely. My family all send our deepest condolences to you all. ~Peggy Gray/The Byca Family

Aunty Sally was always so happy, feisty and welcoming. With fond memories of many wonderful get togethers and a great polka with her on the dance floor.
We will miss her. Love to the family.

We are all heart broken at the loss of Great Aunt Sally. We will remember fondly the many times she "kicked our butts" at Rummy, and then asked if we wanted to play again. The occasions we had dinner at my house were lively affairs. She was filled with so much spunk and fun. She really knew how to tell a good story. My children (Sally's Great Great Niece Helena and Great Great Nephew Andreas) remember Sally as "The lady who gave us $20.00".
She will be missed, but not forgotten. Love, Melanie, Edwin, Andreas and Helena Cherkes

The end of an era. Aunt Sally was so loved by many, many nieces and nephews as well as her beloved family. Our condolences to the family. Although we didn’t see her often, we always knew she was there and ready to have a conversation. One year she took it upon herself to wish the male in-laws of the family a Happy Fathers’ Day by phone. A loving gesture. We will miss her. Love to all,
Sue and Doug Todd

So sorry to hear that dear Aunt Sally has gone. We had many good times together when I lived in Toronto, going to operas and shows - and enjoying her fantastic cooking!
My deepest condolences to Myron, Larry, Jennifer and the rest of the family. She will be sorely missed, but we will never forget her.

So sorry to hear this news! My condolences to the family. I'll always remember Sally as a feisty, wonderful woman, who knew her own mind. Tough as nails , and soft as mush inside. Keep your memories close as comfort in the days to come.
