Miss Dorothy definitely led by example - through dance she taught so many what it means to be respectful, hard-working, caring, and to have perseverance. She will be greatly missed in this community. Our thought and prayers are with her family during this difficult time. Love the Ruffieux Family

My Condolensces to the Family! Was very sad to hear of Joan's passing. I have very fond memories at her dance school for many years, recitals and Joan was such a Beautiful Dancer. Dancing at her studio was a very large part of mine, and my sisters childhood and the many friends we made there. Sherri Wilson

For over 15 years, our family has only ever know her as Ms. Dorothy. It was a name that you spoke with respect and reverence. Her demeanor, mannerisms and professionalism commanded respect from her pupils and all those who knew her.
She leads by example and always expected you to do your best. She always knew that you had what it took inside of you, even if you did not. There was also a softer side that she would share on occasions. She had a dry wit and a quick sense of humor. She could make you smile, laugh and relax all with just a simple gesture, and always at just the right time.
My family felt privileged to know her and the lessons that she taught are still with us today. Work hard, and never settle for just good enough.
Our condolences to your family in your time of loss. We will remember her fondly.
God bless you Ms Dorothy.
Richard, Bonnie, Emma and Michael.
