Anthony Roy Cutler
1927-2020
We’ve known Anthony Cutler for more than 40 years
We’ve shared family get togethers lots of fun and many tears
We were there when he lost Betty his wife and also Ed his son
At that point we thought his life here was all but done
Tony was a man who talked about the war
It was tragic some of the things he had to endure
He loved his house in the sticks way out of town
When he left the city his face lost its constant frown
He was happy working the fields tending to vegetables and flowers
It was all consuming keeping him busy for many hours
When he wasn’t there he’d be on the farm helping plough a field
Helping his brother and sister to increase their yield
He constantly called upon Ed to help him out
As he got older he was lonely, of that there was no doubt
He was impatient, when he wanted something he wanted that something now
Forgetting Ed had a family to be with or his own field to plough
When Ed was no longer around Dawn was the one who was there
She took wonderful care of him from preparing meals to cutting his hair
She too had a family to care for but somehow she squeezed him in
Time is a precious commodity and for her it was spread pretty thin
Our belief is Tony is happy now being with his son Ed and Betty his wife
It is with deep regret we can’t be there for his celebration of life
Tony we will miss you now that your time with us is done
Your life here is now complete, your battle finally won
You will be missed
