Dear Connie and family: I was so saddened to hear of Uncle Lawrence's passing. I have fond memories of Uncle Lawrence at family Christmas's in the house on Elgin Street in Newmarket and at the farm. He was a character full of fun, very loving and genuinely interested in our lives.
Unfortunately, family issues got in the way and I did not see Uncle Lawrence for many years. He and Connie dropped in to see me for a visit several years ago. It was so nice to see them and find out what was going on in each other's lives. He and Connie went to see my mom at the retirement home several times and I took mom out to see them at Christmas a couple of years ago (see picture attached). We had a great visit catching up on family history and learning about Connie and "Larry's" travels.
Rest in peace Uncle Lawrence. My deepest condolences to Connie and her family. I hope your memories will bring you comfort and some peace.
Love, Kim Mortson

Dear Connie and family
We are very sad to hear of the passing of Larry. We knew you both through Roy and know how kind and faithful you were to him. This is very hard for you at the best of times but the corid-19 virus just makes it worse. May you recall the good times with Larry and keep him in your heart. Sincerely Bob and Eleanor Sherbo

Connie,
Sorry to hear that Larry has left us.
We shared a special bond never to be forgotten.
Your marriage on Jan 1st. on a snow covered day at Rice Lake now 33 years ago. A day to be filled with smiles and surprises.
You will remember seeing a snowy white owl on the way to the Pastor's home for the marriage....what a sign of Well Wishes sent straight down from heaven for both of you.
What fun we had that day, and for so many years before and after. How lucky were we....so many fun filled times.
Great memories of Larry will remain forever in our hearts.

It was our honour to have Larry as my father, and Kirsty and Robin’s grandad. We will look back and smile at the many fond memories we have.
Larry was a wonderful, warm and welcoming man that loved having family and friends around him. He was always interested in hearing what we had to say and showed a genuine interest in the chatter with his gentle smile and twinkle of his eye.
In his youth he was a fantastic dancer and he loved to share tales of his escapades. Even in his most recent phone call he was making us laugh.
Latterly he took joy in planning trips with Connie his wonderful wife and in taking care of his busy bird table.
His adoration for Connie was immeasurable, they were a beautiful and perfect pair.
I remember how Larry used to take great delight taking us for a ride round the farm, checking out the maple trees and showing us the latest animal tracks. Larry was at peace with nature preferring the tranquillity of the farm to the bustle of the city.
He was a very thoughtful and caring man that was also full of fun.
Larry loved a good western and was known by the girls at the library who would often phone to let him know about the new titles arriving. Watching a good documentary was a pleasure for Larry, as was a lively political discussion as he enjoyed keeping up with current affairs.
Larry’s passing has left a great hole in our lives, he will be forever in our memories. A true gentleman. It has been an honour and privilege to be a part of his life.
Connie we will be there for you, although sadly not in person at this time. Our thoughts and hearts are with you all at this time of great loss.
Love Gill, Kirsty and Robin

Dear Connie and family.
Monique and I wish to send you our deepest condolences at this very difficult time to Connie and family. Larry will be greatly missed by all his caravan friends.. Larry was very precious to us. Larry was the kindest, most generous man that I had the honour to know. Always available to spend time with you and / or help you if you needed help. Goodbye Larry until we met again.
May the sun rise up to greet you as the Lord walks gently by your side.
"Oh Lord, grant me to greet the coming days in peace.
Give me strength to bear the fatigue of the coming days with all that it brings.
Direct my will, teach me to pray, and you yourself pray for me."
Larry you will be missed
In friendship Always,
Dianne & Monique

Poppa, you will be missed dearly. Will cherish all the memories we are lucky enough to have.
Rememeber when we were young kids Poppa told us that if we rubbed his bald patch, his hair would grow back. It never did, but it must have taken alot of patience to have three grand kids crawling all over you rubbing your scalp till it's red.
It was always a treat going up to the farm to visit; even a little later in life when I tested his reason and it ended with me spending the summer chopping wood. Safe to say he was a reasonable man.
Humble, gentle, and wise. He wanted the best for everyone and we are all so lucky to have had him part of our lives for as long as we have.
Poppa, thank you. For sharing your knowledge, showing us there is humor in everything, and setting the bar on what being a good human is really about.
Have attached a photo of Poppa and Mark in the sugar shack from last season.
Love you Poppa,
Matt

Thank you for sharing this Matt, I could not have said it better myself.
You gave us so many memories to look back on. From noogies, the best easter egg hunts on the farm and learning just about everything there is to know about making maple syrup. These memories will live on through us, your family and friends.
You will be truly missed, we love you so much.

Hi papa, this is Sam, I would like to thank you so so much for being the best papa I could have ever asked for. You would always be there for me no matter what and you always cared for me and I love you so much for that. You always brought joy to my life even if it was just sneaking me a little piece of candy before I left to go back home. I always loved spending time with you even if it was just talking inside with the family or if it was going on the chitney in the forest. It was very hard to see you go yesterday but I know your in a better place now, and that you are watching over us. I promise you I will take very good care of gramma and mommy and daddy and auntie anna and uncle rob and Charlie and Sadie. But at least I know you are in a good place up there and now you can spend time with strider and nuisance. We all miss you down here and would do anything to get you back but I know that we all know you are watching over use and are in a safe place with god. I send all my love and prayers to you. I will forever miss you and love you with all my heart. Love Samantha!

Our hearts are broken that you are gone. I will forever miss your wit and big smile. You welcomed me into the family right out of the gate, a single Mother with my five year old Son Dakota. You took Dakota under your wing and treated him as your Grandson, I will never forget that! Here we are twenty years later and added Samantha to our family. You are Poppa, the man she loved, the Poppa who snuck treats in her pocket when we left the farm from a visit. We will forever miss you and we hope you knew just how much we all loved you. Always, Mike, Tracy, Dakota and Samantha xoxo
