My Dear Friend Farouk,
My heart is breaking for you with the loss of your beautiful Diana. I can't imagine the depth of grief you must be feeling. Such an
unexpected death leaves one bereft with sorrow. I believe the beauty of Diana's soul is beside you, protecting, guiding
and loving you always. As you know I didn't know Diana well but the very special afternoon spent with you and Diana
when visiting with Roman, will be in my special memory always. She welcomed me with an open heart, generosity and kindness, making me feel as if I was a best friend. She imbued the best of everything that a human being can aspire to. Reading the letters of love from your children attest to her uniqueness, her almost saintly person. I was profoundly moved by their letters and those of her friends. How very fortunate you both were to find each other and spend your lives together. One as special as the other.
May the memories bring you comfort and peace Farouk. Allah, God, Great Spirit, Creator all will bless you and keep you in their care. You may remember Roman's first wife, Karin from Ryerson days. We are good friends and I took the liberty of sending her your email. May we meet again in person when this crisis period of our times is past.
With love to you Farouk....and I fully expect that Diana and Roman are having tea together and talking about their intertwined lives together, while sending you and I love.

Dear Mr Muhammad:
Please accept my sincere sympathy in the loss of your wife Diane. I knew her when we were little girls and she used to visit her Grandmother Botten on Elgin Street in Almonte. That was many, many years ago.
I have wondered, over the years, where she ended up and what kind of life she had. From the tributes of you and your children and Diane's friends it seems that she had a full, loving and busy life.
I know she will be dearly missed.
Sincerely,
Judith Scott Maloney

Blondie as we knew Diana was the epitome of a kind and generous person. She is one of the few people we know who lived life to the fullest. Her family consisted of her best friend and husband Farouk, her children and grandchildren as well as her first great grandchild, but also included any human or animal that needed her kind words and touch. we grieve with them and pray for their comfort.
Will we miss Diana? With every part of our heart. I have a feeling she is contacting my mother and having a cup of tea. This of course will consist of many laughs and probably a few tears for those left behind.
I hope she is planting a beautiful garden in heaven, as she did on earth. She will be missed.

Dear Diane
I Cherish you. Thank You for always making me feel a welcome and loved part of the family.
From your illumating presence in your warm home
rec room or lawn wherever we found ourselves. It takes a thousand words to paint a picture and a thousand moments to paint a lifetime from a few thousand fits of laughter, late kitchen nights, singing to Tom Tom and rubix cubing life's peaks and valleys, have painted a perma smile on my face, memories of warm roti and callaloo and a comforting cup of herbal tea.

Val’s Promise
Mom, “you are the music, you are the golden key.” These words from a song I once heard struck a chord with me, as I feel they describe your essence. Every cell in your body knew rhythm. Your heartbeat, like a musical conductor, guided you as an instrument of love that played in unison with the orchestra of life. You knew how to go with the flow. Your beating heart knew that silence in music as in life is also an essential part of that flow. Now I hear your heart’s silence like Vivaldi’s spring! You didn’t leave the flow of life; on the contrary, you are directing it. You are the epitome of beauty, grace, and strength that resonate at the highest of vibrations. You are my creative reality! I promise to you that I will ride life’s current of grace like a river; I will take the path of least resistance because that’s where I’ll find you. Mama, I’ll meet you on the grassy banks or near the small ridge where the wildflowers grow. Like forest nymphs, our hearts will beat as one as we synchronize with the rhythm of life and take care of the plants and the animals, heal the ill, and bring joy to the world. I promise you that I will take care of my heart and that I will love and cherish you in everything I do today and all the beautiful tomorrows. See you in Bliss!

Most beautiful Mom Diana
The bluebird has flown, in a flash through the gate of the cresting morning sun, witnessed by the waning spring moon, the one that marks renewal of green and growing things and the season of her beloved gardening. Now the Earth is her garden, and all elementals and creatures revere her, the goddess of compassion. Mom’s delight, lightness and joyous singing will be in our hearts always. She was an exceptional golden hearted soul and the finest person I knew. We were blessed to have her as our Mom. Her warmth touched the most precious parts of our hearts. All that knew her loved her. She was my best friend. I’m so grateful to have had spent much time together with both my Mom and Dad, especially in the past few years. We’ve shared so many wonderful adventures and meaningful moments.
Mom lived to a full age of 79, She left just as she hoped she would, no hospitals or nursing homes for Mom; but in her beloved kitchen, the place of the heart and soul of the family. From the wild Muhammad creative cookery gatherings to the lingering mid-afternoon tea chats and the late night beer laughs. Mom is a gift and even in her leaving is still giving, somehow the finality of knowing that she is gone, has me drop all which seemed so consequential. My heart and mind are now at peace and filled with Mom’s loving grace, knowing she is liberated. She wants us to live a beautiful life. We’ve been journeyers together forever and this shall always be. “Narayani Namostute” (Sanskrit) - I bow to the universal goddess of peace, intelligence and beauty, who resides everywhere in all living beings, the auspicious mother.
Your loving daughter Susan
