Linda Ralston

Obituary of Linda Marie Ralston

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Linda Marie Ralston, on December 10, 2020 at Matthew's House Hospice in Alliston, Ontario. She peacefully passed with her husband, our Dad,Terry at her side.

She was born in St. John's Newfoundland and moved to Ontario when she was a young girl. She met her beloved husband Terry in highschool and they were married on May 2, 1969 and they remained inseparable for 51 years.

Mom leaves behind her husband Terry, her three daughters Tammy, Kelly and Samantha, and a grandson Aidan who all loved her dearly.

She was quick to make friends and loved talking to anybody and everybody and people felt better for knowing her.

It is difficult to capture all that she was in words. Many describe her as strong, feisty, kind, generous, fiercely protective, and a force to be reckoned with.

Our youngest sister Sam captured our memories of Mom in the following poem:

As I stare at the blank page I struggle to find the words to express who Mom was,

She was thunderstorms and rainbows all at once,

A tornado and a river,

A cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter's night,

But above all else she was mom.

A Mom that would give you the shirt off her back,

A Mom that would hold you tight till you felt safe and a heart that was filled with such childish joy that all you could do is smile,

Mom was my best friend and someone that tried her best,

A warrior and a fighter,

Someone you strived to match in strength.

But above all else she was a Mom.

She always called me her angel but now Mom the roles have changed, you are now my angel,

And though we feel so lost and many tears will be shed,

We know that you are with us, holding us as we grieve.

We love you Mom and miss you.

The world seems less bright without you but we will remember all of the joy and love that we shared.

We are so proud of the strength and fortitude that she showed throughout her struggle with cancer and we know she gave cancer a struggle it had not seen before.

Linda Marie Ralston, forever tenacious and forever in our hearts.

We ask that donations be made in her name to Matthew's House in Alliston for the incredibly kind care and dignity that they showed to our Mom.
