Gerry and family....I want to express my deepest sympathy at this time for your loss of Loraine. She was a tremendous person who will always be remembered for her loving outlook on life, her laugh, her joy in sharing hospitality and her love of her family. I have many good memories growing up as children and as we continued to stay connected as we got older - camping at Sibbald Point, sharing family celebrations and visiting together.
Loraine was a shining light in her faith and belief in our Lord and I rejoice as she will have been welcomed into her heavenly home and reunited with loved ones today.
We will miss her and feel sorrow - but God will also give us comfort today and in the days ahead.
Love to you
Peggy Hawthorn (1st cousin)

Loraine is and always will be my older sister. An older sister is kind of like having another Mom that you can talk to, confide in and tell your worries and problems to. Loraine always had the right words to say and she just made everything be okay again. Growing up we shared a double bed, and there was an imaginary line down the center that you dare not cross over. We were very serious about that line when we were young, but as adults we laughed about it many, many times. I can still remember being in bed as I watched Loraine get herself ready to go to work, and I would say to her that if I was going to work and getting money I would not mind having to get out of bed in the morning one little bit. What a shock when I discovered work was not any different than school because getting out of bed was just as hard. Loraine was always very meticulous and one day she saw me sewing a button back on a piece of my clothing, but I was not using a color of thread that matched. Oh my goodness she had a lot to say about that! When I went to Girl Guide Camp for my first time, Loraine was there as one of the leaders and that gave me great comfort with being away from home for my first time. Loraine and another leader we called Scotty were in charge of Tuck. Now tuck was all of the guides opportunity to buy candy and chocolate bars. That was the best part of the day! I can remember feeling so sad when Loraine was getting married because to me it meant we would not be a family anymore. Mom and Dad helped to change my thinking because they pointed out to me that it only meant our family was getting bigger. Loraine my beautiful sister both inside and out was always so positive. She truly had the gift to turn a terrible situation around by always finding a positive in it. I love her so very, very much and miss her already, as are the many, many people that she has touched, encouraged and helped during her life time. I do think that she passed away far too young, but being positive as Loraine would have been, I must dwell and be grateful that she is feeling no more pain. Loraine has gone to heaven to be with our Lord, there is absolutely no doubt about it. You may have watched movies where angels have to earn their wings. Well I know as sure as I am writing this that Loraine earned her wings long, long before she went to heaven. I love you Loraine, my sister and my very best friend. You are truly one of a kind and will never, ever be forgotten. Now all of us must carry on through life without you, and use the wisdom, kindness and positive ways that you have instilled in us. Your son Michael wrote earlier and called you his hero, and I must enlarge on that and say that you have been a hero and touched so many lives during you time here on earth. You have left a footprint that will be here forever and we all thank you for that so very much. Loraine you are one of a kind and will never be forgotten. I love you with all my heart and cherish the memories that I have of you. Until we meet again may God Bless you for all that you have done. You are so appreciated and will never ever be forgotten. Love and hugs, your sister Wendy. XXXXXXXXOOOOOOOO and many more.

Dear Gerry and all the family, we have heavy hearts as we grieve with you at the death of Loraine today. She was a fun and loving cousin and we have many memories of our two families camping when young and getting together at many celebrations. Loraine had a strong faith and how wonderful that she is no longer struggling with her health, but rejoicing in the presence of her Lord and with so many others that have gone on before. We send you our heartfelt sympathy and love and will be praying that each of you will know God's peace and comfort at this time. We are so glad that we had a visit with Gerry & Loraine and other family members at their home when we were back for our 25th Wedding Anniversary in August 2018. We were hoping to make a visit this last autumn, but Covid-19 stopped that, but we hope to see you soon. Lots of love, Janette (first cousin) and Phil Taylor (Worthing, England)

My beautiful, kind, compassionate Mom was an absolute joy to be around, a leader to be looked up to, a wonderful life partner to my Dad, and an inspiration to her grandkids and great grandchild. She was full of love and hope, and she made everyone that met her for more than five minutes a better person. Dad, Marge and I will miss her dearly.

Loraine was my (Sue) first cousin. She was an amazing person, with such a loving heart. I will always remember her contagious laugh. We spent many wonderful times together at family events. We know that she is now at rest with her precious Lord and Savior. Till we meet again. Love Paul and Sue Harris.
