I haven't been in touch with Sylvia for a number of years, but have very fond memories of her, especially when I was a teenager working in the photo studio with her father Victor Sr. We have made a contribution in her name to Merrymount, in London, where my wife was a Board Member. Small world.

Patti and Nancy, I am sad to hear of your Mom’s passing. There are two things I remember of my first visit to London as a small child - my visit to Storybook Gardens and visiting your parents. Your Mom had the warmest smile and made me feel welcome. Find comfort in the joy she brought to the people she met. I have nothing but fond memories. Dave and Heidi Ghantous

St. Jude's posted a condolence
Monday, January 25, 2021
There will be a few older members of St. Jude's who remember the McGeein
family, Don, Sylvia, Patti and Nancy, all strong and faithful members of St.
Jude's from the 1960's. Sylvia died last Thursday in a long term care home
in Bradford, after fading away with dementia for several years. Her
contributions to St. Jude are many and valuable, indeed, she is among the
giants on whose shoulders we stand today. Very active in the 1960's in youth
activities, groups and junior choir, etc, she was the first woman to be
appointed Warden here, not unusual today, but in 1983 a big deal. During her
tenure as Warden she founded, organised and guided, the Senior's Lunch, a
very successful monthly affair, which still exists today as the strongly
supported Lunch Bunch. She chaired that event until she moved away to live
with her daughter Patti in Newmarket.
Funerals are really not possible under today's conditions, but the family
want to have a Celebration of Life, here at St. Jude's when that becomes
possible. Meanwhile, remember her in your prayers, and pray for the family
as they go on without her presence.
