Obituary of Terrylee (Terry) Madaline Hounsome
On Friday April 30, 2021, Terrylee (Terry) Madaline Hounsome, in her 64th year, grew her angel wings and flew from her home into God’s outstretched arms, taking residence in his mansion after a 2 year battle with Lymphoma. Terry leaves behind her loving husband, Don, of 28 years and her great nephew Nathan who was like a son to her. She will be missed every day by her twin sister Gerry Kuehner, sister Debbie Kuehner, sister-in-law Janice (John) Motherwell and longtime friend whom she called her “sister from another mister”, Alvenia St Amand. Terry was very close to and loved like her own her 6 nieces, 4 nephews, 5 great nieces, 4 great nephews, 1 great-great nephew and all the children who knew her as Auntie Terry. Terry is predeceased by her parents Earl and Olive Kuehner, sister Sharon, brothers Walter & Arthur, niece Tammy and Don's parents Irvin & Mary Hounsome.
Terry was an active volunteer for many years of her life. She was involved with Girl Guides of Canada for over 35 years, loving every minute that she spent with the girls as a brownie leader for most of those years. She also volunteered at St. Charles Garnier school on the parent council helping out with school activities, but her favorite was working the craft table at the annual Family BBQ. She was an active volunteer member of the 262nd Unit of the Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans in Canada serving for many years on the ladies auxiliary helping to organize and run the children's Christmas party, darts league and the crib league. Terry received a recognition from the City of Mississauga for her many hours of volunteering. All the friends that she has made over the countless years of volunteering will miss her smiling face and helpful hands.
