Peter Woodhead

Obituary of Peter Woodhead

It is with great sadness that the family of Peter aka Woody announce his sudden and unexpected passing on April 28, 2021.

Peter was a drummer and an avid golfer who cherished every moment with his son Evan especially on the golf course and at the rink.  Peter was an amazing father whose world revolved around Evan and Peter was so proud of everything Evan did.  Peter’s passions were music and everything sports related.

Over the years, Peter was involved in coaching soccer in Aurora, coaching summer hockey and loved sharing his knowledge with the kids he coached.  His goal in coaching was to connect with each and every kid to help them improve their skills, gain confidence and have fun at the same time.  Peter loved people and enjoyed meeting new people, sharing stories, telling jokes, going on outdoor walks, skating on the pond and connecting on the golf course.  He was known to drop in unexpectedly on his friends and loved it when friends returned the favour and dropped in on him.

Peter will be smiling down and watching over Evan and cheering for every birdie he gets.

Peter has left us far too soon to join his beloved mother Julia.  Survived by his former wife Kelly Lawson, his son Evan Woodhead; his father Jack Woodhead; his sister Susan Payne (nee Woodhead), brother-in-law Warren Payne, nephew Kurt Payne, and niece Shannon Payne; his nephew Logan Roberts and nieces Brittany Burgess Drummond, Hayleigh Lawson Schwertfeger and Kendall Lawson Schwertfeger.

Due to current restrictions, a private family service will be held.
