My husband and I were saddened to learn of Pete's passing. We have known Pete for over 20 years. He was an amazing blacksmith, friend and human being. His caring and compassionate ways with animals and people was obvious. He was someone who always went out of his way to help others. He is sadly missed. Rest in peace. You put up a valiant fight.

To Matt and Family
I am saddened to hear of Peter's passing. He showed his strength in life by facing cancer head on. He had been coming to our barn for over 20 years. What started as a business relationship grew into a friendship. We did way more talking than trimming or shoeing as the years passed. He was so good with our babies... "Uncle Petey wants to see your feetys" or the " Hey stop horse'n around will ya". Great sense of humour and I will miss him.

Dear Lindsay and Matt,

He always told me how proud he was of both of his kids, when we talked. I bet you both had a great dad as I had a great little brother.

You were our close friend and greatest support for many many years. We could always count on you and you got us out of many situations. To Lindsay, Matt and family,
My heart is completely broken for you all right now and wish there was something that could be said to make things better.
Pete was an absolute gift to have in our lives and I already miss him terribly. I’m going to miss his hearty and often times mischievous laugh. The way he would walk into the cottage singing some sort of song at the top of his lungs. His love for music was beyond incredible and I love the fact that you could give him a word and he could find a song to sing with that word in it. It brings sadness but comfort when I hear these songs now. The wonderful dinners where we would be sitting at the table laughing.
He was one of the kindest and supportive men that I have ever blessed to know. We found out years later that grandpa had asked him to take care of his girls and he took that role to heart.
He was the absolute best and is already terribly missed.
