A long lost brother, found and now lost again. My fondest memories were of him taking me to watch Newcastle United play at St James's Park as a child. It cramped his style with the ladies and he whinged to me about it but he was still able to laugh about it. We all know there was only ever one for him anyway and now he is with Brenda. Rest in Peace big bruv.

My sincere condolences on the passing of Joe. I remember so well dispatching him to calls when he worked at 4 District. He was always willing to assist regardless of the time of his shift beginning or ending. Rest In Peace Joe. You served York Regional Police proudly. My thoughts are with his dear family and friends. My condolences to the entire Willis family on the passing of a true gentlemen, Joe Willis. I will never forget his laugh, his calmness and his ability to always make you feel ok even after a not so good day at work. Loved his voice, loved his accent and loved the guy. Thanks for looking out for me when I was just a young copper trying to learn the ropes.

My condolences to friends and family. Joe was a great guy, I worked with him at 28 Division and I met Joe and Brenda from time to time as I also lived in Bradford. Joe had a great sense of humour and was a good copper. He was always a calm and cheerful fellow. He reminds me so much of what an English Bobby should be. Rest in peace my friend. Ben Hengeveld

Remember Joe well behind the bench at our platoon hockey games. A true gentleman and full of words of wisdom that I carry with me to this day and have shared with others over the years. Perhaps that is one of the highest honors one can impart upon those we love and respect. And to those of you who knew him best and for even a far longer time than I, my heart felt condolences to you folks. He was one of a kind. Rest easy Joe.
